Each project from Renaissance to Black Is King to Cowboy Carter has mirrored what I see in birthwork every day: the reclamation of power, ancestral presence, and the soft yet ferocious act of choosing yourself. As a Black full-spectrum doula and therapist, I’ve witnessed how our births, losses, and transitions carry rhythms much like Bey’s own evolution: spiritual, layered, and Black as hell. This isn’t just about pop culture. It’s about what gets born in us when we remember who we are.
